Since Trump was elected in 2016, Stand Up America has been fighting back against the administration’s dangerous agenda and mobilizing millions of progressives to defend and strengthen our democracy.

The Fight to Impeach and Remove Donald Trump

In May 2019, we launched a campaign to pressure Congress to open a formal impeachment inquiry into Donald Trump. Over the course of the year, more evidence of Trump’s criminal activity surfaced, including his attempt to pressure the president of Ukraine to investigate a political rival by withholding Congressionally-authorized aid. We drove over 300,000 constituent calls, sent over a million texts to voters, and organized nationwide rallies to demand the House pass articles of impeachment and the Senate convict and remove him.

In December 2019, the House of Representatives impeached Donald Trump. While the Senate ultimately held a sham trial and voted along party lines to acquit him in February 2020, the Stand Up America community stood up for our democracy, our Constitution, and the rule of law by fighting to hold Trump accountable every step of the way.
