Group Has Driven 15,000 Constituent Calls To House Members

Following reports on the timeline for the House of Representatives to impeach Donald Trump for a second time, Stand Up America Founder and President Sean Eldridge released the following statement:

“With Donald Trump refusing to resign and Mike Pence so far failing to invoke the 25th Amendment, Congress has no choice but to act swiftly and decisively to remove this dangerous man from the Oval Office.

“While House Democrats are moving to defend our democracy and hold Trump accountable this week, far too many Republicans in both chambers are still shamelessly defending a president who incited a deadly insurrection that tried to overturn the will of the people.

“Impeaching, convicting, and disqualifying Trump is not only about punishing him, but about ensuring that this never happens again.”

Stand Up America drove over 15,000 constituent calls to the House of Representatives on Friday urging them to pressure House leadership to reconvene the chamber and immediately vote to impeach Trump.

In 2019 and 2020, the group was one of the leading grassroots organizations pressuring Congress to impeach and remove Donald Trump from office, driving more than 375,000 constituent calls to Congress.
