Group Drove 28,000 Constituent Calls To House Members Demanding Impeachment
Following the bipartisan vote in the House of Representatives impeaching Donald Trump for a second time, Stand Up America Founder and President Sean Eldridge released the following statement:
“We applaud the bipartisan group of lawmakers who upheld their oath of office by standing up for our Constitution and our democracy by impeaching Donald Trump for inciting last week’s deadly insurrection and failed coup attempt.
“His high crimes are too grave to ignore and the danger he poses too great to allow him to remain in office—or ever hold it again. The Republicans who voted against impeachment put their loyalty to a seditious president over their duty to support and defend our Constitution.
“The Senate must now move as quickly as possible to convict, remove, and disqualify Trump from ever seeking federal office again.”
Stand Up America drove 28,000 constituent calls to the House of Representatives since Friday urging them to immediately vote to impeach Trump, including more than 10,000 calls to Republican lawmakers in recent days.
In 2019 and 2020, the group was one of the leading grassroots organizations pressuring Congress to impeach and remove Trump from office, driving more than 375,000 constituent calls to Congress.
