NEW YORK — In response to the unveiling of two articles of impeachment against Donald Trump for his abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, Stand Up America Founder and President Sean Eldridge released the following statement:

“By introducing articles of impeachment, congressional leaders have affirmed that no one—not even the president of the United States—is above the law.

“The evidence is overwhelming and the facts are uncontested: Donald Trump committed a high crime by using military aid to pressure Ukraine to interfere in the 2020 election and then covering up the evidence of his abuse of power.

“Congress has no choice but to impeach him and remove him from office.

“Republican lawmakers now must decide: Will they defend the Constitution and uphold their oath of office by voting to impeach Donald Trump, or will they continue to stand by a president who has undermined the rule of law and threatened the very foundation of our democracy? That decision should be easy.”
