Ban Congress from trading stocks!

Members of Congress have access to insider information to legislate in the best interests of the American people — not to enrich themselves. However, right after Senators Richard Burr (R-NC) and Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) attended a private hearing on the impending COVID-19 threat, they allegedly used that insider information to sell millions in stocks before the market crashed — all while telling the public that there was nothing to fear.

Combined, they sold more than $20 million in stocks after hearing the private information, all to protect their own investments. This is a betrayal of public trust. Members of Congress should not be able to use their office to line their pockets.

Congress must pass legislation that would make it illegal for any sitting member of the House or Senate to trade individual stocks and profit from insider information. Add your name in support of banning sitting members of Congress from trading individual stocks!
